During this specially organized tour, guests will feel on time travelling. Tour will start from the main entrance of the old city and continue showing architecture from the 12th century. You will be met with driver at your hotel to begin Baku city tour, the capital and commercial hub of Azerbaijan. Start your walk in Icheri Sheher – the old part of the city. Visit Maiden Tower, Shirvanshahs’ Palace, Caravanserai, and market square with numerous art studios and souvenir stalls. Continue to Martyrs’ Lane, called ‘Shehidler Khiyabany’ among locals. When you walk through Martyrs’ Lane, you will find a beautiful view overlooking Baku’s coastline. Further, you will explore 19-20th centuries architecture: Nizami Street, Fountain Square, Nizami Ganjavi monument, Rasul-Zade Street. In this tour you will be able to visit the Absheron Peninsula , then the Ateshgah – Fire Temple and Yanar Dag – Fire Mountain. Absheron tour covers three historical places. You will get an opportunity to become acquainted with old household and ethnographic traditions at Gala open-air museum. During the tour you will see Quadranqular Tower, one of the ancient Absheron towers located in Mardakan village. Like Yanar dag natural gas evaporated from the soil and lit a fire that kept burning. It was a place of worship for both Zoroastrians and Hindus.It’s origins remain unclear, but in the 7th century people already believed it was a holy place. In the late middle ages Indian merchants built the current structure.

The tour will start off from Gobustan Museum, where you will see ancient human bones, work tools used back to thousand years ago during the Mesolithic period. Gobustan geographical region is situated in the west-south of Baku. The meaning of the word «Gobustan» is derived from two words «gobu» – «ravine» and «stan»- «place», i.e. ravine area. The word «gobu» is also of Turkic origin and means «a dried up river valley».
After visiting Gobustan museum, you will advance to the mountain in order to see real rock paintings in the open air museum. Later on, the tour will proceed to the Mud Volcano which is 20 mins away from Gobustan National Museum. Azerbaijan keeps the first place in the world for the number of mud volcanoes. About 300 mud volcanoes are to be found in Azerbaijan – at the shore, in the sea and on islands. During this trip you will get a great chance to see these rare and active volcanoes from very close distance. We can also drop you off at your accommodation, if you prefer so.
